Barbecue Chicken (Air Fryer Edition)

Who doesn’t like a good barbecue but sometimes pulling out the pit isn’t feasible. I like barbecue like the next but I could do without the lingering smoke aroma. Here is a recipe that won’t replace actual pit smoked barbecue but will satisfy the craving.

Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 15- 25 mins

Ingredients:
6- 8 pieces of Chicken
1 lb Smoked Sausage
1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce. for basting
Barbecue Sauce, for eating
1 tbsp Liquid Smoke, optional
Spices:
2 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tbsp Kosher Salt
1 tbsp Black Pepper
1 tbsp Garlic Powder

In a small bowl, combine spices. Use spice mix to season chicken then refrigerate for a couple hours. Feel free to add more spices to the chicken.

Preheat air fryer to 375 F- 400 F. Combine 1/2 cup barbecue sauce and liquid smoke in a bowl. Pouring half of the mixture into a separate contain, baste chicken and place chicken in air fryer. Cook until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 F. Flip chicken after 10 minutes to allow even char. Once cooked, remove chicken and allow to rest then lightly baste with sauce without the Liquid Smoke.

Cut sausage into two inch pieces then add two- three slits on top. Baste with remainder sauce that contains Liquid Smoke and place into air fryer. Cook until sausage is heated through and has a slightly charred look.

Serve your Air Fryer Barbecue with your favorite sides and Happy Eating.
